Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko competes as a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thai fighter for the UFC's flyweight division. She's older than her fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her combat sport career by becoming a Muay Thai kickboxer. She made her debut in the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko took the title and beat Suzane Miller in the finals via unanimous decision. Antonina received a gold medal in 2007, a silver medal in 2008, a silver in 2007 and a medal of bronze in 2008, and a gold medal gold in 2011. She was also crowned IFMA World Amateur Muay Thai Champion in 2016 by the IFMA. Antonia's professional journey began in 2003. In 2012, she took home the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship and in 2016 the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016 the WMC World Championships. Antonina last fought against Isa Tsidblad Keskikangas at Phoenix Fighting Championship. The winner was a unanimity. Antonina Schevchenko set professional MMA records in 2002 when she took on Anara Bazanova in the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan. She won this fight via TKO after round 2. Her following two matches were staged in WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko stopped fighting to focus on boxing. Shevchenko returned against Anissahaddaoui at Phoenix FC 3. Shevchenko defeated Anissa by unanimous decision before she fought Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She resigned from the organization and started Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina's formidable strike abilities enabled her to TKO Nievera via knees in the body. Antonina took a UFC invitation following her win. Antonina Shychenko made her debut in the UFC at TUF's Heavy Hitters finals against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was defeated by Roxanne Modafferi via split decision, after winning her first fight. Antonina was able to bounce back from the defeat and beat Lucie Pudilova in the UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke submission and earned the fight of the night bonus in the fight. Shevchenko was victorious in her initial three fights before losing the fights to Katlyn Cahookagian, Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski. Antonina lost to Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
